0 Christiaan
Katie, are you suggesting I should export then import then export again? Quote Link to comment
0 Jonathan Pickup
for hybrid objects, if you export them from a 2D View all the 3D stuff will be left out. Quote Link to comment
0 Guest
Are you looking for this to import only 2D data into VW or to only export 2D data in VW ? Do you have the option to control this in the DXF file with whatever program is being used, or do you have to work with what they give you? (I can tell you how to change it in AutoCAD) Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
I'm just after the ability to export 2D-only DWG/DXFs from VW, but according to Jon this happens by default if you're in 2D view when you export, which indeed it does. The reason I asked is because someone at work was complaining that the 3D data was making his exports too big. They're always stating their assumptions as fact so I should have checked first before posting this query. Thanks for your help. Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
Having mentioned this to the workmate in question he said "that is odd, I had numerous engineers whingeing about 3d content in our exports polluting their drawings. Remember that a line in autocad is a 3d object." What could these engineers be complaining about I wonder? Quote Link to comment
0 Christiaan
I've just come across a file showing some 3D info in 2D view as well (a bunched of 3D objects). Quote Link to comment
