copy w/ base point

This is an AutoCAD tool...

Copying with a reference point that may or may not be a part of the copied objects. Very useful when using a benchmark to copy and paste betwen files.

Does VW do this? I'm new to it.

Do you know about the Paste-In-Place command? That's sometimes useful for copy and paste between files.

If you actually want a reference point rather than a common offset from origin, one easy way to do that is to Group the things being transferred, and then grab the group by the reference point after pasting it, and drag it to where you want it. Then ungroup it.
