attributes palette in mode bar?

with the new look and layout in vw 12, the attributes palette doesn't seem to fit very well anywhere on the screen. i notice that the mode bar is largely unused by graphics so why not put the attributes palette there is some stretched out form?

Interesting idea. I definitely think the Attributes palette needs an overhaul of some kind (along with the colour handling in VW) but I think I'd be more tempted to make it a full blown palette.

Better colour handling is definitely desirable. As for a "full blown pallette" ; I'm not so sure about that. But, given that they both deal with the characteristics of individual objects; merging the attribute pallette and the object info might be a solution. The attributes could perhaps be a tab of the OIP like the data and rendering tabs, although I think I'd prefer to see them visible all the time without having to change tabs.
