RemcoT
I was wundering, where to put the DMX Universe info in the Object Info of an Lighting Instrument. I think, that {Channel} would be for entering the DMX startadres, but where do you put the DMX universe? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 3, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 3, 2006 In v12 there is a field for Universe. In prior version most people used the dimmer field and entered 1/99(Universe/Dimmer), a standard notation that is also used in Lightwright. Quote Link to comment
RemcoT
Is there also a field reserved for the number of channels a moving light needs? (for instance a StudioColor needs 16, a MAC600m4 needs 14) And can this be already included with the symbols, wich come with the software? This will simplify making a plug-in, wich quickly can adres spots. How do you deal with a V*L5? (wich needs a startadres for the spot and a seperate one for the dimmer) Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 4, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 4, 2006 Num Channels was also added to V12. If you create a symbol and fill out the record info atatched to the symbol the field will populate automatically. Most of the instruments contain this information but several older instruments need to be updated. For instruments like the VL5 I sometimes attatch a "Dimmer" as an accessory to the instrument.
