Nemetschek North America Awards VectorWorks Spotlight to ESP Vision 2.0 Lighting Design Contest Winners

Columbia, Maryland (March 29, 2006)??Nemetschek North America congratulates the winners of the ESP Vision 2.0 Lighting Design Contest and awarded them complimentary copies of VectorWorks Spotlight 12 with RenderWorks.

Each entry was judged on these factors: complexity of cueing, cueing complimenting the song, use of truss moves, use of fixtures, and overall look.

Lighting designer Scott Riley, who is based in Miami, Florida, took the grand prize, which included free copies of VectorWorks Spotlight with RenderWorks, an unlimited license of ESP Vision 2.0, a High End Systems USB DMX Super Widget, and an NVIDIA? GeForce 7800 GTX video card.

?VectorWorks Spotlight provides a great environment to draw in 3D effortlessly, and?with the refinements that have been made in version 12?the export to ESP Vision has become even better with improved performance,? said Riley. I have always felt that VectorWorks Spotlight is a great tool for lighting design, and, since I have been using it to export to ESP Vision, it has become much more efficient to move from the design stage to the pre-programming visualization. All in all, it is a great combination and a powerful tool that I?m fortunate to have as a part of my production experience.?

?Our developers have been working hard with ZZYZX, Inc., makers of ESP Vision, to make VectorWorks Spotlight the primary method of creating geometry and plots to use with ESP Vision pre-visualization software,? says Kevin Linzey, VectorWorks Spotlight product manager. ?VectorWorks Spotlight, which has long been regarded as the industry standard in entertainment design, now offers designers an end-to-end solution, thanks to the plug-in ESP Vision developed.?

Runners up Matthew Cochran, an independent lighting professional from Henderson, NV, and Daniel Chapman, an MFA candidate at Carnegie Melon School of Drama, in Pittsburgh, PA, received VectorWorks Spotlight 12 with RenderWorks, as well as two universes of ESP Vision.

The partnership between Nemetschek North America and ESP Vision provides a complete design, visualization, and simulation solution to lighting designers worldwide. The VectorWorks Spotlight/ESP Vision plug-in teams the powerful 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and rendering capabilities of VectorWorks Spotlight with the advanced rendering and real-time lighting simulation capabilities of ESP Vision. Lighting designers can now easily conceptualize their design, generate the necessary drawings and paperwork, and create 3D models in VectorWorks Spotlight, then move their models directly into ESP Vision to simulate and cue their work.
