Yellowstone Construction
I noticed on a roman style roof that you had drawn some time ago you had tile ridge caps on your roof. Were these a single unit compounded or was it a symbol. I have made individual tiles but having trouble making them conform to pitch. Quote Link to comment
Damon Design
I admired those ridge-caps too, I was thinking cool, a new option with roofs or textures. Alas I believe he indicated they were created using nurbs curves, probably using the ridge as the path or vector. I am sure he will show up with info for you soon. Quote Link to comment
Yellowstone Construction
Yes they're a nice feature he's added. It saves alot of time of having to line up roof face edges exactly. Oh where is the Islandmon? Fishing no doubt! Quote Link to comment

islandmon
Hey .. give me a break .. it's Carnival Time here in the Virgins ... Yeah... I agree the Ridge Caps really complete the 'look&feel' as well as cover up the seams... let's not forget the Valleys or the gutter edges. The Ridge Caps are symbols compose of an Extruded NURBS curve profile matching the manufactures design. The trick is getting the tile texture to map properly so that it looks like the tile ridge line. The Ridge is basically segments whereas the Hips& Valleys are computed single lengths rotated to fit. The Gutter edges are short segments inserted at the ends of the roof panels as required to make the edges look just right. Quote Link to comment
