Tully
All of a sudden, when using artistic rendering, my models come out transparent & fractured. Hidden line is fine as is fast renderworks. Final quality renderworks crashes my system. I'm currenly in v11.5 but am in the process to go to v12. This model was rendering perfectly last week. I've resaved as a new file, but no change. Can anyone help? http://www.thefuries.ca/renderings.htm Quote Link to comment

Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted April 21, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 21, 2006 Hello again Tully: When I see this kind of comb-like artifact, I think of either overly-large bounds for the model or the model is far from the origin, or objects are overlapping. In this case, there is an extrude in the gas range 30 symbol that is part of a solid addition, and the extrude is 37 million feet from the origin! If you fix this I bet the file will render OK. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted April 21, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 21, 2006 (edited) p.s. The way I find object like this is to select all (or deselect all) then click on the Fit To Objects button in the view bar on the bottom of the window. The model is so far zoomed out that you can't see the page except for a single pink dot, and the one corner of the selection is at 80 million feet on the ruler. Tully
There were actually 2 corrupted 3d objects imported from another cad program. Deleted them and now renders perfectly. Thanks!!!! Quote Link to comment
