Andrew Mac
I am having the worst time trying to get my dimension pick up the attributes of the last dimension I drew. Is there a way to set the default of the dimension to 0", number size @ 10, and precision to no fraction? Please help Quote Link to comment
hong
Font size of dimension comes from the text/size menu whereas all other setting can be customized from document/preference/dimension. Quote Link to comment
Andrew Mac
Unfortunietely, I am using VW 11.5.1 & it limits me what i can choose under doc. preferences then under dimensions. I am just trying to take on the charistics of the edited dimension that I just last did, but it seems to jump back to the default Quote Link to comment
cbaarch
to have a default text you need to have no object selected and the active icon needs to be "2D selection tool" then go to Text Font select the font Size select the size this should then be default when using dimensions Quote Link to comment
Andrew Mac
I understand how to do that, my default dimension tool will automatically go to 6" offset, I don't want it to offset at all- So I have to back to all my dimension and chages th offset from 6" to 0" Quote Link to comment
cbaarch
you need to create a new custon dimension set you select Custom New and name it then edit a dialog box open and shows all the diferent setting you may have to change to the numbers more than once to get the result you are looking for. then open a Default drawing change to the new dimension set and save as template Quote Link to comment
Guest
To change the rounding of a dimension, go to the Units menu under Dimension Objects Primary. You can find more inforamtion about the Units menu in the User's Guide and help menu. To change the text size, set the default text size by deselecting everything in the drawing and selecting the font and text size. Quote Link to comment
Francois Levy
You can also use Custom Selection to select all dimensions and globally change them to the new dimension style, once you've cretaed it per cbaarch's instructions. Quote Link to comment
