If your machine actually has 256 Meg of RAM, you've got plenty of memory. But please supply some more information, such as the CPU, operating system version, and free disk space. Until then, you might try turning off your screen saver and other "power management" features which can sometimes interfere with a lengthy install process. Charles Quote Link to comment

This solution was actually provided to the tech support team by a customer who called in having the same problem. Other programs that might be running without your knowledge (such as spyware) can cause this issue. Booting into safemode will prevent most of those types of programs from being loaded.
