VW 12 does not upgrade any prior versions of VW. When installing VW 12, it is installing the full, independent application and will be in a folder of it's own.

In order to resolve your problem, I'll need some additional information such as the OS and the exact error you are getting. Are you getting this error durring installation or launching the software?

Where did you install the software to?

What is the name of the additional folder you are referring to?

How are you launching the software?
