JMG
Hardware - PC Pentium 3 1Ghz, 512Meg Software - Autocad V14; Vectorworks 10.1.0 A drawing done in Autocad V14 was Imported into Vectorworks 10.1.0. Lights were inserted as 2D symbols but when Convert to Instrument was used they continued to appear highlighted, could not be selected or deselected, and have no information in the Object Info palette (palette displays No Selection). When the screen is refreshed, the symbol disappears. This seems specifically tied to the Import from Acad to VW, this is the only way we've been able to reproduce the problem. When the symbols are copied and pasted from the imported file into a new VW drawing they Convert to Instruments just fine. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Check your class and layer options and visbility settings. Make sure nothing is locked or not set to be visible. Quote Link to comment
JMG
Checked all layer and class options and visibility settings, still couldn't get the Symbols to Convert to Instruments. Replaced Symbols with Instruments (Instrument Insertion Tool) one at a time. Instruments then had all appropriate information in the Object Info Palette but the Labels would not display. When using the Label Legend Manager, we could create Legends, choose Fields, assign Container Types, but in the Edit Layout window there were no Labels in the box to the left to move into position around the fixture.
