I have VW9.5.1, running on OS 9.2.2, with USB dongle. VW randomly quits out without notification, and also sometimes decides to run in demo mode even with dongle. Machine is not on a network, iMac G4 700MHz. Only other connection is USB either iomega 250 Zip drive or Epson 1290 printer. Sometimes after printing, VW freezes. Anyone any idea? Thanks.

Hi Katie. There are 3 USB ports, one of which is VW dongle, one keyboard USB cable, one Epson printer USB cable. No other dongles. Error message we get is - "You have been placed in demo mode due to an application protection violation. You will now be asked to save any open, modified files." Very annoying!! - happens randomly. No other machines connected. ???

Okay, it could be that your dongle is not programmed correctly for the VW program and industry series you have installed. Check with your distributor to ensure you have a correctly installed dongle.

This will also happen if you are using a MacHasp dongle and you have a Hasp4 dongle inserted at the same time or vice versa. When you talk to your distributor, see if there is a way to get a Hasp4 dongle programmed and issued to you to test the above theory and get VW running.
