printing to .pdf

Interesting problem. When plotting from Vectorworks directly to the plotter and then comparing a .pdf file created by Vectorworks and plotted from Acrobat. The Acrobat file is sllightly off scale. Example a 3 foot door now leasure 2-10 1/2". This has been tried on bothe Mac and the PC using Vectorworks 11.5. Does anyone have any idea why the drawing is shrinking when plotted to a .pdf file?

Maybe you have already checked this, but make sure that the page scaling option inside your print window is not set to 'scale to fit.' This can sometimes make a drawing print smaller than the actual PDF is really set for because of the difference between the PDF margins and the printer margins.

I don't know if this applies to a plotter, but when printing to my Epson 1290 inkjet I find that printing from a pdf using a driver with an inbuilt margin will affect scaling. The best solution in this case is to select a "no margin" driver both at the time of conversion to pdf (on a Mac) and when printing the pdf.
