"error disposing of document -8986" on a LaserWriter

Markus Dohner

Question

I have a VW 11.5 drawing that will not print on a Laserprinter (HP4000). This drawing was fine and printed without a problem until I got this message in the LaserWriter window:

pictwpstops - got an error disposing of document = -8986

The drawing prints just fine when I convert it into a PDF or print it on an inkjet. I have a feeling this could be a fonts issue. Is there a way to flush out bad or corrupted fonts from a single document??

Font Doctor is available at versiontracker.com which is intended to do just this. There's a trial version avialable for free, but note that not all the features of the full product are available in the trial version.
