Viewports & Labels

Question

I add all my drawing notes into my viewports. Recently I have been experiencing issues in regards to drawing labels, reference markers and elevation benchmarks. When I move a viewport around on a sheet layer the text in these objects all of a sudden becomes incredibly large. I can go back into the viewport and reset the text size but it becomes cumbersome to have to do this everytime I move a viewport. Any ideas? Using vectorworks 11.5.0 on a PC running windows XP.

Thanks!

Katie & dtg,

This is a pretty commonly known issue. . .at least to those of us who frequent this board. It's directly related to the elevation benchmark tool. I can consistently reproduce this "exploding text size" every time I place a benchmark on an elevation VP and then move the VP at all.

Please see:

In spite of my comment in the last thread, I have in fact had the problem recur. Consistently and predictably. I sincerely hope it is resolved in v12.

(BTW, why is this on the Printing board?) [Wink]

Regards,

I've heard of it a few times myself, but I have never been able to duplicate it - perhaps because I've never gotten a file from a customer to similate their exact environment. In the hokey files I create, I can never get it to work.

Like I said before - if you, or anyone, wants to send a file demonstrating the problem, please feel free. I'd love to test it out to know myself.

I tend to have a similar problem when I copy and paste viewports from one sheet layer to another. Any text inside of any pio's become scaled up to 1:1. My workaround is to tweak the viewport scale and it seems to scale everything back to normal. Although this workaround cures the symptom, it does not address the problem.

Happened a few time to me, but I don't have a clue as to why, either.

I can suggest an easier way to get all back to normal. In the Sheet Layer select all and do a 1:1 scale.
