Mat Caird
Hi all I use the technique of laying one viewport on top of another to produce elevations etc. The top viewport set to hidden line render, sketch hidden line, and the bottom viewport set to open gl render (or fast renderworks etc). This produces a good drawing that the client seems to like, but, printing is SOOO slow. The following drawing took 40 minutes to print http://www.urbandesigns.co.nz/family/coppermine/albums/userpics/vports.jpg I printed to pdf995, but takes as long printing to epson color 1160. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Mat Quote Link to comment
0 CipesDesign
WOW, 40 minutes! I think you win the prize. What is the DPI setting of the SHEET LAYER? I find that this has the biggest effect on rendering times & of course, printing... Quote Link to comment
0 altoids
40 minutes is outrageous. If the viewports are not overlapping, how long does it take to print? I know that this will not give you the desired image, but it is diagnostic. Quote Link to comment
0 Mat Caird
Hi All Moving the viewports so they don't overlap didn't seem to help. I have to admit that I gave up after 25 minutes... DPI is 200. Rendering the viewports only takes a minute or two. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
0 altoids
Sounds like a VW bug. Other posts have complained of slow viewport plotting. There is the typically VW solution of using another program to do what VW claims to be capable of doing. Export your rederings individually in some Photoshop readable format. Within Photoshop, convert them into JPGs. Import them back into VW and arrange them as images on a single sheet, then plot. Tedious as hell, but probably quicker than VW's 40 minutes.
