11.5 plotting from mac to HP1055CM plus

DEREK

Question

We upgraded our macs to OSX and also VW 11.5, since then all users have the same problem of plot control from landscape to portrait. If a plot is sent in normal landscape setting the plotter will print out in portrait on an A0 landscape sheet, giving us a large blank paper area at the top that has to be manually trimmed. I have tried to download the OSX driver for the plotter but it always comes out as one for the HP5000 series and makes no difference. The PCs running 11.5 on XP Pro do not have this problem. It seems that the page setup on the macs is not fully functional and no matter what you try it is always the same.

Any ideas before we deforest northern europe getting a job out to tender?

OSX10.3.+ uses GIMP Print ( awesome drivers for every printer ever made ) so there is no problem with the OS and HP drivers are not required.

HP Plotters have multiple set-up options which can be very confusing.

GoTo Printer Utility > Advanced and select the HP from the GIMP list. Try printing to PDF and then use preview ... this helps to get the layout & setup right. Then once you have it 'save as' the configuration in the Print Dialog.
