Custom Paper Sizes

we are running VW 9 on PC with a HP DesignJet 500 plotter. In both the page and print setup dialog boxes i can set the page area/paper size to a custom size but when i send it to print it will only print certain areas that with a pattern if anything at all. The largest sheet i can print with VW is A1.

we also run 1 copy of autoCAD and have no problems with printing custom page sizes larger than A1 which makes me think the problem lies with VW and not the plotter.

Has anybody else had this problem?

If you go into the properties of the hp 500 is there an option to select a roll and then also roll size? Carefully look through the options that you do have, there's likely something there.

I used to print from VW 8, 9, and 10 to an HP 500, using custom sizes up to 36" x 96" or maybe longer, with no problem associated with the large size. But I remember many problems between VW and the 500, especially version 9, and patterns were often involved. I learned to avoid them. If that's your problem, you can solve it and still keep your patterns if you first print to PDF and then print from the PDF file to the 500.
