Ronne
I know there has to be something out there. I searched everywhere but I'm too stupid to find band gear, instruments, drumsets, etc needed for stage designs. They don't need to be pretty (hopefully 3D though) just to scale. They don't even have to be free. Found a few DWG things on the web but they had EXC suffixs on them and working on a Mac I have no clue how to make that work. Much grateful for anyone that could help. Thanks, ronreitz@aol.com Quote Link to comment
zero
http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/meshes.asp there's one there for musical instruments... Download the .dxf or .dwg files, then use VW's import feature to import the model. Good Luck Quote Link to comment
Ronne
"there's one there for musical instruments..." Thanks Zero. Actually that was the site I tried previously and wasn't able to get anything to work. The larger selection of symbols at the top download as a .zip, but when I expand them they bear the suffix .max.1 (I'm not familiar with other CAD systems, it must be a file format for another program?). Every import function wouldn't recognize it. I changed the suffix to .dxf (and .dwg)....Spotlight (9.0.1) then would give me an error trying to import the changed suffix dxf and wouldn't even recognize the the file when I changed it to dwg. "Download the .dxf or .dwg files, then use VW's import feature to import the model." I also tried previously to download the DXF files at the bottom of that link but they have .exe suffixs on them and my Mac can't expand them. I've downloaded equip mfg files (ie Yamaha) in both dxf and dwg and have had no problems importing them. Seems like someone out there would have a .mcd library with drumkits, Marshall stacks, guitar players etc. Like I said in the previous post I would be more than willing to pay for it. ronreitz@aol.com Quote Link to comment
