Print problem using HP450c & Xp

Rickster

Question

I have recently upgraded our clients workstations from Windows 98 to Windows XP SP1, the client uses VW V10.5 and print to two HP450c plotters (these plotters are connected to the network via HP print servers).

Our client has a problem when printing, where text maybe condensed on the print or information is missing completely. I am using the latest printer driver from HP and have also upgraded the memory in the plotters to 36Mb RAM (the maximum they can take). Printing the job using the 'via computer' option fixes the problem in some instances but not all. Has anyone else seen this problem?

When it doesn't work with the computer spooling setting, try "Print as Raster" in the print dialog box. That will elminate out of memory related printing issues.

If it's text only that isn't printing, you may want to look into the fonts themselves. You may have bad fonts, damanged, or corrupted, or the printer may not be able to download that type of font.

Another note, if you haven't already, update to VW 10.5.1. That may help some of the problem even.
