Anna Arbetter
I appears Data Visualization cannot do what we need it to do. I'm hoping someone knows how to do this. We want to change the symbols we use for existing plants to be the same set of plant symbols for proposed plants. Two sets is more work than one. But existing plants will need to display differently. I'd like to utilize Data Visualization to turn off the Plant-Component classes Bloom and Interior Linework, and change the color of Color Fill. We have plant symbols on the layer for Existing Plants and also on the layer for Proposed Plants. I thought I might be able to set these criteria in a Data Visualization: Layer is Plant EX Retain Class is Plants-Component-Bloom Fill is None Pen is None But this DV did NOT do anything. It did not turn off the Blooms for the symbols on that layer, or any layer. I'm guessing the problem is Bloom objects being a component of a symbol. Any idea how to set these DVs? THANKS! Amanda McDermott
We had a similar issue last week - data vis could do with an option to override based on the symbol class... if it's the same issue as ours, it's because objects/components of objects nested within the symbol may be on different classes to the symbol itself. Which can sometimes be useful, but in this case was a pain! The choice (I think) is to either edit all the internal objects of the symbol to be on the class you're using for the visual, or to find out what each of the classes involved is, and change them all in your data vis.
