Nico_be
Hello, Although the plant tool has come a long way since Vectorworks 2026, I still felt I needed a faster and more flexible way to create plants. That’s why I created this plugin, which creates plants very quickly without having to enter any database fields. You enter the botanical name, choose the desired spacing type (Spacing or Density), the label type (per instance or per style), and that’s it! The plugin will even correct the Latin name if it detects a spelling mistake or typo! In just a few seconds, your plants are ready to use in the resource palette. It works with Gemini, which, based on my latest tests, is the most reliable. Available in English and French. Free trial! Visit the introduction page. Watch the short introductory video. Jeff Prince
Can't do a free trial without entering credit card information? Quote "AI GENERATES THE RECORDS AUTOMATICALLY Height, spread, flowering, colors, spacing, description… everything is filled in within seconds." This is a scary prospect as AI never seems to return accurate values for this kind of data, especially in desert climates. Which means lots of manual review and correction. Have you experienced these issues? 1 Quote Link to comment

Which means lots of manual review and correction. Have you experienced these issues? I've done a lot of testing, and overall, it's pretty accurate. Of course, for rare, new, and poorly documented plants, it's not very useful; our knowledge as landscapers is far more valuable. As always, we have to fit living parameters that depend on their environment into fixed categories; even when we do this manually, we have to make a decision. Does this plant like the sun? YES or NO? The answer is sometimes “It depends”… And only people with experience can answer that. Even a tree documented in a nursery is often listed as growing 10–15 meters tall (a 50% difference, after all). My suggestion here is for agencies that don’t want to spend a lot of time creating their plants and incorporating all their characteristics. The VW library is “pretty,” but the fields aren’t filled in. I haven’t experimented with desert plants; I live in a part of the world where it’s pretty much the opposite (which creates other challenges). 🙂 For sales, I rely on a platform, and unfortunately, a credit card is a must...
