GregG
Kudos! I'm very glad we have this plugin. It works well for uploading files. Downloading Revit files comes in as general meshes on one layer. Not so great in a several-story building. The geometry itself is fine. General question regarding the Vectorworks plugin. https://speckle.systems/integrations/vectorworks Would the Vectoworks Speckle plugin have similar features at some point? That would improve working with Revit-based consultants. For example: Edited February 28 by GregG 1 Quote Link to comment
shorter
Are you talking about the Speckle Plugin for Revit? Or using the Speckle Plugin in Vectorworks? AFAIK, the speckle plugin for Vectorworks was written by Vectorworks, and therefore I would not expect it to do much with Revit models. That's what the Speckle plugin for Revit is for. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Kevin S Posted March 2 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 2 Correct, the Vectorworks plug-in is developed as a Vectorworks project and is the first cross-platform integration. All other v3 connectors are developed and maintained directly by Speckle. That gives them the unique ability to intimately understand import mapping between connectors. Our focus has been output to the Speckle open-source format itself. I would recommend the Vectorworks version of Speckle Connector is most effective as an output method to their online viewer, and that's where the priority has been for its development. We are currently testing an update for improved materials data output and other bug fixes, but import improvements will not be part of it. Quote Link to comment
GregG
We make round-trip trips between Revit and Vectorworks. Hoping for a Vectorworks plugin that does the same Quote Link to comment
zoomer
I would also have thought the primary purpose of VW supporting Speckle would be faster and easier access to especially Revit Projects. But of course it is very nice that it uploads fine to Speckle and e.g. streams down great into Blender. Quote Link to comment

Is it a read the room kind of thing? If yes, then the number of applications supported by Speckle directly should give you some impetus to reconsider. Usage often follows availability. Nevertheless, I'm glad to know VW has it in its scope of consideration. Quote Link to comment
