Astera AX1 not appearing correctly in Vision using GDTF

Recommended Posts

So i've started to dive into the world of Pre-viz and while vectorworks showcase has been decent, it was lacking a "pre viz" feel, so i started to dive into Vision which i have been loving so far. The only issues I have across both platforms is getting Astera Pixel tubes (in my case AX1) to show up correctly. They look great when using the default Vision modes but when i step into using GDTF for more specific channel modes the glow and uniform look of the tube is not there. I could just use the native vision AX1 for pre-viz but for a specific event i need to stay under 42 channels to keep 12 tubes within one universe and would like to get some programming done ahead of time. (I only have one CRMX Astera box available to me)

I am hoping that i am just completely missing something here, i've been using vectorworks for about a year now and just started to work with Vision this past week.

I've attached a PDF file with my rough notes while i was testing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please post a sample file so that the collective can take a look. It’s best to copy the problem items into a new file to keep the file small and avoid any NDA issues at hand. Please use a definable file name. We get so many named “sample.” 🙂
Thanks, Scott
