kerib
I'm getting more than a bit frustrated. It might be that I'm a somewhat new user....but really, I don't think so. So reaching out to check that I'm not going insane. I've been working in 2D on a drawing package and things just keep changing. For example, lines on dimensions randomly vanished. I had to click each, move it, then replace it and hey presto the lines were back. Out of nowhere classes that were off, came on - a whole raft of them. Items that were visible on papersheets suddenly and randomly become invisible - none add been altered in any way. The list goes on. Now, I'm in a different project, this one drawn in 3D. On my layer plan, window frames suddenly overlap wall reveals. A door that was present, is now invisible - actually, it seems to have disappeared entirely. {Add to that - items just randomly seem to change to different classes...2 doors randomly changed to 'nonplot'. The last time I had this file open I printed it and those doors were definitely printed!} I'm spending hours fixing these problems. I'm questioning why the heck I chose to move to what seems to be a very unstable program. Nevermind that VW randomly crashes, at least a couple of times a week. I'm on 2026 with the latest update applied, on a decently powerful machine. It's infuriating, and causing significant time wasting. Am I alone on this? Is VW simply going to tell me to reinstall, and then I have to re-setup my workspace for about the 4th time? Does anyone have any constructive solutions? Thanks. Jeff Prince
Your experience is not typical, so maybe it’s on your end. It sounds like you have several unrelated issues going on (hardware and workflow) It’s hard to know what the issues are on based on the description provided. Maybe try to reproduce one issue in a new drawing and see what triggers the behavior, then bring forward that one issue here and folks will help. Lather, rinse, repeat until all the issues are resolved. Quote Link to comment
kerib
Appreciate the reply. However, I simply don't have the time to go through each one at a time and carry out tests. The problem is definitely not hardware, I have an all swinging and dancing and fan blowing PC. I can't see how the 1 project is workflow related - it's all drawn in 2D. Ghostly things definitely happen without prompting from myself - so no chance in replicating intentionally. In utter frustration today, I've extracted the info on 1 project and restarted it in AutoCad. But, here are 2 straight foward scenarios. 1) Today, I attempted to match the properties of one wall to another. VW crashed. The file is small, and new. 2) Save a file as a copy. Open the new file, window reveals all overlap window frames. Same happened when duplicating the layer. It happens on repeat. I thought - let me just start a-fresh in v2025. But nope, all my info is v2026. So that's a non-starter. Quote Link to comment

If you can’t take the time to find out what you are doing wrong… Quote Link to comment
