Fog density in backgrounds needs to be consistent between shaded and rendered images

Tom Sturge

Question

Is it possible to have the fog density percentage level be consistent when using Shaded and Rendered output images. Currently the fog has to be set very low, typically 1%, for Shaded work, and up to ten times that (10%) for a similar look in Renderworks. This makes using both visualization and renderings much more time consuming. Thank you.

The fog background to me is the more theoretically accurate solution - as if my DF50 ran for 30 minutes from the midbridge w the Main in and no weird air currents pulling to  SL or FOH or out thru the shop or what idiot left the roof hatches open…😅

well, per instrument might account for different fog machines. I also miss the low fog option.

I usually just want a little to make it easier for my client to pick out where the lights are. 3 ft off the light in question and then die out would be my preference. Or, maybe I've got some that I want to show them spiking across the whole stage. Then they need a nice strong beam. But the low room lighting shouldn't have as much or it gets all blown out.  😞
