print resolution - HP 1220

I've been having a problem with certain files (2D drawings, not rendered images) which will not allow me to change the print resolution from 72dpi to 300dpi (or any other resolution). If I cut and paste the drawing into a new file, I can adjust the resolution. However, this is occurring with many files, and I'd prefer not to have to always be creating new files.

Kristen, I don't use Mac any more, but I remember that Sue Steeneken reported this exact same problem a couple of years ago:

That thread only has a workaround, but maybe you can e-mail her to see whether it was finally solved. Her profile includes a link to her web site.

Thank you for the link -- that sounds exactly like my problem. It casts some light on what's causing it, too. I suspect that it's files that are created with a different print driver selected. I will try emailing her to see what the outcome was.

You can also install the driver for the HP DeskJet 5550 to get different page sizes and resolution.

HP is aware of the issues with that printer and carbonized applications under OS 9.

Their suggestion is to use the above driver for the 1220c.
