Vectorworks, Inc Employee Scott C. Parker Posted December 19, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 19, 2025 Please post a sample file so that the collective can take a look. WIthout seeing the settings of the seating section, it's hard to know what you have drawn. Quote Link to comment
clrtherp
Hi, thank you for your reply. I was hoping that deleting my RM cache like you posted would fix this, but the seats are still offset. Please let me know what I've done to alter the symbol. Untitled 1.vwx Quote Link to comment
michaelk
It's your seating symbol that's causing the issue. In the symbol definition the chair should have the back at 0,0 and face down on the screen. Like this: That will make your seating section make a lot more sense 1 Quote Link to comment
clrtherp
thank you Michael, but I am still struggling to get it back to the original un-modified library version in the Resource Manager. I was able to get this but it I would like to revert back to the original, because of all the modifications I was playing around with, and am not sure what I did. I apologize for being that guy:) Much appreciated! Untitled 1.vwx Quote Link to comment
michaelk
It looks like what you want it Event Chair 1 It's in Vectorworks Libraries/Defaults/Event Planning/Seating/Seating.vwx If you just import that symbol into the drawing and when the warning comes up choose replace symbol in the current document, that should fix it. 1 Quote Link to comment

If you nuke your RM Cache file and the refresh, you should revert to the VW resources. Refreshing your Resource Manager will update your library to the latest published symbols. You may need to clear your local RM cache file. Refreshing the RM doesn't always do this. Delete the RM Cache folder and then refresh the RM and it'll pull down a complete set of updated RM files.
