print crashes VWA10.0.0

When printing a simple VW drawing to an HP 4MV 11x17; The first print usually prints OK but the next print sheet attempt crashes VWA immediately. OSX remains OK. The files I've had this problem with are all converted from VWA 9.5.3.

I just got the computer and installed VWA10 so have no new VW10 files yet.

VWA 9.5.3 is also installed and crashes in the same way when trying to print.

I downloaded and installed a new HP4MV driver but that made no difference.

I selected all and made sure only one font is used

: Times

Print as PDF crashes VWA in the same way.

No new fonts have been installed.

Other programs installed which didn't come with the machine are:

- appleworks 6.2.4

- writenow 4 which I only opened once and it was a problem but worked. (To read old files)

- safari which I also only tried once.

All other programs seems to print OK.

Any insight is appreciated

This is a known problem with the HP 4MV printer and Mac OS X.

You can do a search on the Apple website, support section for HP 4MV and find a handful of results describing this problem and workarounds.

I downloaded a patched driver PPD for the HP 4MV from a site:

VW10 doesn't crash now when trying to print.
