Custom Print Area on a HP5000ps?

JohnG

Question

I am unable to use the full printing capabilities of my HP5000ps with VW9. VW limits my print area to standard sizes and max customs around 60" x 96".

I am running OS X with a G4 Mac.

Is there an update or a program out there that will allow me to print as long as the spool paper on my plotter?

This will GREATLY increase my productivity desire which is why I purchased VW in the first place!

Thanks for your replies in advance

I think the limit of the length of the page has a direct correlation with the DPI you are printing at.

I am getting more information about this question.

What DPI are you using to print?

The page available in the Print menu is limited to a short integer space of 32768 pixels.

To calculate how long you will be able to print when using a specific DPI, you can use the following equation.

Pixels/DPI = length in inches

32768 /72dpi = 455 inches

32768 /300dpi = 109 inches

32768 /360dpi = 91 inches

32768 /600dpi = 54 inches

That's based on the imaging implementation limit.

Windows has a limit of 125 inches no matter what the DPI is.
