pepeflores
Hi folks, I’m going crazy trying to find a way to quickly select only circuits within a specific region in ConnectCAD. I’ve tried everything, including the Custom Selection tool, but it selects all circuits in the file, not just the ones inside my selection area. This feels like it should be obvious and easy, but I can’t figure it out and it’s driving me nuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Post an example file and a good description of what you want to select and we can probably figure out a solution. And by "range of objects" do you mean in a certain physical part of the drawing? Or do you mean things that are in some way numbered and you want to select say the items between 1000 and 1200? Vectorworks, Inc Employee Conrad Preen Posted December 10, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 10, 2025 @pepeflores Well one way is to draw a temporary rectangle around the area and name it for example IN-HERE. Then add this to your selection criteria as shown below. That will get you there. If you make a Vectorscript of it then you can with a little scripting get the rectangle, do the selection and delete the rectangle. Hope that helps you get started. Conrad 3 Quote Link to comment
pepeflores
thanks guys but far from ideal to be honest. I do think this needs to be taken in consideration for CC users that need speed when working with circuits accurately without having to mess around with classes or scripts. The request is simple. select a range of objects with the mouse but only select circuits or devices for example.. Thanks for posting workarounds on how to achieve this though. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Conrad Preen Posted December 15, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 15, 2025 @pepeflores This isn't really a ConnectCAD thing. It's a development of the Selection tool. I like the idea of being able to restrict selection to certain object types. I think a lot of people will find that useful. I will put it forward as a suggestion. Conrad 2 Quote Link to comment
