Scaling between design layer and sheet layer

Jeremy wharmby

Question

One design there is that one to 100 and another at 1 to 50 and when I go to create a view port/sheet layer my drawing is out of sync and not representative of what is being shown on the design layer. I’m sure this is a scaling issue, but can’t resolved it in the sheet layer. Any help hugely appreciated as I have spent hours trying to resolve it!

Can you share your file with us so that we can have a play with it.

Generally, I set my design landscape to match the most common output scale for my drawings. For example, if most of my drawings are 1:100, then I’ll set my Design layer scale to that. That way, when I make my viewport, I don’t have to worry about scaling and I also know that any text I need can be on the design layer and it will be at the right scale on the drawings

When you have some drawings at 1:100 and some at 1:50, then the text on the Design layer will end up being twice the size on the drawings that are 1:50 scale. In that case, I tend to put text and dimensions in the viewport annotations.
