Ryan Russell
All, I am working on a two story residence, and not using Organization > Design Layers > Story to rely upon heights as this is a fairly simple drawing. Instead, I am using the OIP to set the conditions of the component with Layer Height / Elevation. Here's where I'm encountering an issue. Regardless of what I set the "layer cut plane to in height", I cannot get the second story 'FF-SecondFloor" to display correctly in Top/Plan mode. Thanks in advance for helping with the mystery, Ryan Russell 16-ResidenceWallsFull2-113025.vwx Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
What do you mean by "correctly"? Do you want just the wall lines without the components? Or do you want the components? In VW2026 the only way to get a wall to show without components is to set the Level Of Detail to LOW. You can do this in a Viewport by selecting the viewport in the OIP and changing the setting there, between Scale and View. For Design Layers, you have to base the LOD (Level of Detail) on the layer scale you can set the ranges for Low, Medium, and High in Document Preferences, Display tab. And you can toggle the auto LOD on and off from either the Doc Prefs or using the quick pref menu/button. 15' Cut Plane on F2. Viewport with LOD=LOW 15' Cut Plane Viewport at Medium or High LOD HTH Quote Link to comment

Ryan Russell
And can you explain why switching it to 15'0 on the cut plane works? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
The cut plane needs to cut through the walls (and doors/windows). Since your second floor walls start approximately 9-10 feet above zero, I guesses and used 15'. You would probably want to set the cut plane on the first floor to something like 4'. You can set the cut plane for both the layer and for wall objects individually. For a number of the F2 walls they have the cut plane set to 4'. But the wall starts much higher than that. If you select all the walls on F2 and set the cut plane so it passes through the walls you should get what you need. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Ryan if you want to jump into the community we can do a live session and I can show you what I found. I would set the file up differently to set the correct layer elevation for each floor level. Quote Link to comment
