HP Multi-function Laser on a Mac

Kevin

Question

I am in the market for a new multi-function laser, (copy, fax, print, scan). Hewlett Packard has brought out some new laser units that look great, model: Laserjet 3330. However, I along with many others have been burned by their terrible software for the Mac.

Does anyone have experience with using this unit on a Mac?

No... but as someone with absolutely no experience with this printer at all I would love point out this important snippet from their spec sheet:

>>PCL 5e, PCL 6, PostScript? Level 2 emulation

More than just crappy drivers, HP doesn't have a great track record with their Postscript emulation. I would avoid their emulated products. As far as the scanning, etc goes I would be careful. I would not count on their scanning software being all that robust.
