text problem on prints

bickel76

Question

originally when i started working here, all of the drawings had geneva fonts for all the text. whenever the drawings were plotted, some of the letters would run together and some would have a space between them that was almost as large as a "real" space. i changed all the text to aerial, and that seemed to fix that problem. now whenever the text is underlined, there are gaps in the underline between some letters. is there a font that most people use in vectorworks, and is this a problem with the printer/software. we are using an hp 488ca. thanks in advance.

sincerely,
