Worksheet Conditional Cell/Row Formatting

Schnoibie005

Question

The ability to color code worksheet cells based on text contents would be amazing, especially with database reports.

The example in my case would be things like color coding the worksheet cells or rows by lighting device positions, but I could see this being useful for many reasons.

And if anyone is putting this in as a Wish, make sure you wish that the conditional formatting will occur based on the data in database subrows.

Unfortunately, based on what I know about worksheets, it is likely that the conditional formatting would be based on what is in the database header row.

@Pat Stanford You hit the nail on the head with the sub-rows.

Heck, even If I could just manually set cell formatting on each sub-row's cells that would be a huge improvement.

My current workaround with the latest worksheet upgrades (which are fantastic) I'm breaking the worksheet images up and setting the bg colors for each separate but linked worksheet images. It works, but being able to save the formatting into a worksheet that's just in our office libraries would be golden.

We would appreciate this too - we have been known to manually draw colour over sections of the worksheet, to match our colour-coded landscape plans. If we update the data have to remember to manually edit the graphics, frustrating. This would be an easy conditional formatting task in other spreadsheets/databases...
