Thomas Lowery
Hello, I'm coming across a frustrating error message. When trying to place a linked-jackfield, I am getting the error message "circuit is not horizontal" and it is refusing to place. Snapping was on the whole time. It DOES apply the jackfield to some circuits, but not others, and there doesn't seem to be any correlation. Is this a bug? It's really holding me up. It is, on the drawing, without question, perfectly horizontal. Please help! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Nikolay Zhelyazkov Posted October 30, 2025 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 30, 2025 Hello @Thomas Lowery, The circuit probably has some little edge. You can try editing the circuit path and checking if you can fix it from there. If you can share a test file I can look into it too. Best Regards, Nikolay Zhelyazkov Quote Link to comment
Thomas Lowery
This drives me crazy, on a regular basis. Does anyone have any tips? Thank you so much. Quote Link to comment
Thomas Lowery
Ok, I found the solution: Make sure object snapping is off. Only have grid snapping on. This is an annoying bug because as close as I can zoom in, even with object snapping on, the circuit appears to be horizonal. Too bad VW support hasn't been more helpful, but seems pretty standard, unfortunately. Quote Link to comment
