One of my 'other' bugbears is the fact that the drawing label only works within the viewport annotation. When I say 'works' I mean it has been design to operate inside a viewport annotation so that it reports the information it can find that is associated to the viewport, such as 'scale'.
Outside, and it says 'Actual Size' or whatever custom value is your default.
I don't know about anyone else but we have strict drawing layouts and the position of the drawing label is defined by the sheet template.
Current behavious is:
a, edit the viewportr annotation, place the label in the viewport annotation, whilst showing other objects
b, to reposition it, edit viewport annotation, whilst showing other objects...
Desired behaviour:
c, place drawing label directly on the sheet, and associate to the viewport as one would associate a data tag to a door.
I have tried to build a data tag to do this, but it does not appear to be able 'see' the information in a sheet layer viewport. It must be there though since the Drawing Label can see it.
It would be good to be able to create a Data Tag to report the information found in the Viewport but remain outside of the Viewport Annotation.
This would overcome the irritation when viewports move and one has to constantly reposition the drawing label. Drawing Labels are part of the sheet, not necessarily the viewport.
