Prints still show educational license watermark

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forum.

You will need to contact VW.  They can remove the watermark from individual files.

The watermark follows the document; not the license.

I sometimes work with students and that watermark is like a very contagious disease.

If I copy a line from a watermarked file and paste into my file made with my professional license, then my file is watermarked.  If I then take a symbol and save it to my library file from that document my library file is watermarked and every time I use any resource from my library file the current document will be watermarked.

So you will want to convert any files you will want to use in the future and create a very hard barrier between educational files and professional files.

Also, I have a perpetual license and dont want to get trapped with annual subscription option. Any other suggestions?

Also if I open a WM file, does it infect my VW app for all new files i create? Can I copy anything from old files without getting it WM? Somewhere I read that if they arent from a particular class they might be ok to copy without having the risk of WM. Is that correct?

Should I reinstall my VW app and then use new professional license number?

Educational vs professional is determined by the serial number that is currently in use.
Resources (symbols, textures, etc.) in an educational file are watermarked and coping these resources from an educational file to a professional file will caused the professional file to become watermarked as educational. You will see a warning message when this happens.
If you created or edited your library with the educational version it will be watermarked. When you open the file, look at the title bar; The title bar clearly indicates watermarked files. If the option is turned on in the Page Setup you will also see the watermark on the drawing on each page.

The file is marked as educational, with the student2pro program the watermarks can be removed from educational files so they become a professional file.

There is no need to re-install the app, just make sure you are using your professional serial number.

There is also now a warning when you try to paste something with the educational license disease into a professional license.  It has saved me several times :-).

Is there a way to find out all the library files in the resource manager I have created during the educational license times? Was thinking I can delete all of those resources and start from scratch without risking watermarking of new files.
