Script to select objects with field values based on a list

Hey folks

 

I'm stuck on a project and need some help.  I'm sure I'm missing something basic....

I'm creating a list of objects from a current selection then making a list of all of the field values of a particular record field that I have attached to the objects.  I can't figure out how to turn that list of values into a list of objects that the list matches.  What am I missing here?  Sub question - Am I on the correct track here (I'm pretty sure I'm missing something)?

OK, so I've worked on this some more and it looks like I've figured most of this out, but I'm still not getting the results I want....  It looks like the only selection that is made is the final string in the list, not all objects whose records match all strings in the list.  Any ideas?  This may be the same issue I'm having with the other post I have out there made yesterday.

I've attached the file that I'm using that has the symbols that I'm using as a dataset.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Alright - I figured this out.  I've attached a file of the final if anyone is interested. I made two scripts, one that selects one field value and puts a circle over it (easier to see) and one that does it for 3 fields (different colors of circles).
