nurbs to 3d polygon

Recommended Posts

Depending on what type of nurbs surfaces you are converting will determine the number of 3d polygons it creates. If you have a complex curved nurbs surface, and your 3d resolution is set to very high, the end result will be many 3d polygons. If you have your 3d resolution set to a medium or low, you will not have as many 3d polygons. If you have a fairly flat nurbs surface, the end result will not be as many 3d polys also.

So, you can kind of reduce the number of 3d polys it creates with curvy nurbs surfaces by settng your 3d res to a lower setting in the VW prefs.

Currently, there is no way to tell the program how many 3d polys to create when converting the nurbs surfaces to the 3d polys. I can add this to the wish list if you would like.

Yes, please. smile.gif" border="0

With such a feature, I can choose different conversion resolutions for each nurbs surface. I believe Lightwave does this, right?

Thanks.
