Active Selection box won't go away.

This happens fairly often and I'm not sure how to fix it.

A complete restart does it, but that seems extreme. 

 

Sometimes after I've selected something, most often Symbols, the selection box stays active, and I can't make it go away.

This doesn't affect workflow and the object is no longer actually selected (I can hit delete and it does nothing) but it does visually distract me.

 

Here it is with a Symbol - selecting and editing the 3D components and then creating, de-selecting, re-selecting, and deleting a rectangle to show that the symbol is not actually selected:

 

 

Any thoughts on how to prevent this?

There was a very similar issue (if not the same) detected in VW 2025 that was corrected for VW 2026. It happened when switching to the flyover tool with a keyboard shortcut (e.g. Shift+C) and flying quickly, thought not if selecting the flyover tool from the tool palette, which switches to "Top" first.
