Ascii problems

I'm currently having problems with chr(13) and chr(10) in Vectorworks 10.5.1. Our company just upgraded and we have a program that creates custom DXF files. When we created the files before we found that in order for Windows to open these files and read them correctly we needed to have both a LineFeed and a CarriageReturn at the end of a line. Since upgrading we have found that the chr(13) and chr(10) are both giving us ^M ,which I believe are both LineFeeds. It works correctly in VW 8.5 but not in 10.5.1. Any suggestions?
