LichtLukas
Hi, Is there a way to let a Marionette that has been wrapped and converted to an object node be updated automatically when the Document containing it is opened? Currently I have to move the object or click on Update in the Object Info - Shape panel. I think I remember that I tested it not too long ago and it did work, but I might just have something mixed up. Currently it is definitely not running when the document is opening. Thanks in advance and best regards, Lukas Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted April 1 Marionette Maven Share Posted April 1 I don't believe this has ever been a feature. Marionette Objects are effectively Plug-in Objects, which require an action to update. The only things that have been changed since first implementing Marionette are that users can now suppress updating the objects when they're moved (so their networks don't re-run whenever they're placed - like how other PIOs work), and the button was added to force an update without requiring the user to change a parameter in the OIP or "nudge" the object. I'm not aware of any object that will force a redraw/update on a file opening. 1 Quote Link to comment
LichtLukas
Thanks for the fast reply! This might be a bit niche, but maybe that would be an interesting (optional) feature for some automation workflows 🙂 Quote Link to comment
Antonio Landsberger
There are hooks in the SDK to do actions (onLoad, onSave, onClose, ...), but I'm pretty sure that Marionette has no access to these hooks and get triggered by any of these Vectorworks actions. To allow this in Marionette, a substantial wish would be required. @LichtLukas If you could list a number of useful use cases, which require this kind of functionality, this would certainly help a wish in this regard. 1 Quote Link to comment
