I am customizing some truss symbols and am running into a problem whereby the textures that I am applying when editing the symbol in the resource manager are not translating properly when that symbol is inserted into the drawing.
I basically needed to make the main chords of the stock truss symbol thicker, so I subtracted the 4 chords from the generic solid and extruded a surface to make the thicker chords. I tried using the Tubing 3D tool but I couldn't get a texture applied at all using that. I apply the texture (a brushed aluminum) in the Symbol Edit 3D window, it works fine and I can rotate the symbol with no issues; the texture applies properly.
When I import the symbol into the drawing the texture mapping looks correct. But if I rotate the symbol from horizontal to vertical the texture on the 4 chords of truss disappears. The rest of the texture mapping (on the plates, diagonals, etc) works fine. Moving the symbol in the drawing is fine...but rotating it to vertical makes the texture disappear. If I edit the 3D symbol to be vertical before inserting into the document the same thing happens when I rotate the symbol to horizontal.
Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? I am going to just convert everything to a generic solid and create a new symbol and see if that fixes anything...
