Lights draw beam as vertical

Recommended Posts

I'm having a new issue.

I'm trying to do some rendering, and I go to focus some lights, simple ETC Lustr2.

This should be easy stuff.

Lights inserted, drop a focus, turn on light, draw beam.

Nope

The focus is a vertical draw beam even though "use vertical beam" is unchecked.

I tried checking, unchecking

Replace light

all kinds of fun stuff.

So I started a blank drawing.

Dropped in a single fixture, and a focus point, turned on draw beam, and slap.

Vertical beam.

I have another drawing that is older, a save as from 2024 actually, that does not behave this way.

Is there some setting somewhere that forces fixtures to use vertical beams?

I've never seen it.

See attached.

There's a vwx25 file, and I added a screen shot in case the file opens and behaves normally for you.

In this example the beam is drawn vertically automatically because if drawn horizontally the edge of the beam would go to infinity, or almost infinity within a reasonable distance.
In this case we automatically draw the beam vertically.
