Scale Bar Styling - Interactive

Hello! I am striving to re-create the drawing scale ruler created by Steve Shelly in his Soft Symbols, but have it be interactive. The closest I have gotten is the Scale Bar Tool, but it doesn't quite cut it.

A) the minor lengths don't continue all the way

B) I can't alternate colors in the boxes

C) I can't enclose the text of the dimension.

 

Does anyone have a brilliant idea (see screenshot attached)

Hello,

A1: Correct only does it for the first major length.

A2. You can alternate the colours.

A3: Correct unless you have a special font that draws boxes around letters.

 

Below is a screenshot of some variations that the scale bar can give you.
