House rigging points, bridles and calculation

Recommended Posts

He guys,

i'm new at BW, went thru BW forum but haven't find answers. Please advise

1. When I create new file, put the house rigging point - it's circle by default and I can see it in 3d. When I change symbol to 1t for example, I can not see it in 3d.

2. After I create house rigging points, I'd like to hang motor there and connect to the truss - not doable.
I understand that motor will show loads, but I'd like to have and see all the only house rigging points with loads for the different views.

3. Why if I create house rigging point it can not automatically separate classes (symbol and load info)?

Next question.

I created a hanging position at 5 m. On the left side I put structures members at 10m, connect hoist to truss, put bridle (with define height of 10m) from structure members to the hoist.

On the right side I just put a bridle with motor on same 10meters.

When I do calculations VW automatically puts house rigging points for bridles (I tried to switch on/off structure members in bridle preferences).

Going back - is this possible to put rigging points first, then hoists/bridles to truss?

And if I change house rigging symbol - it dissapears from 3d.

And last thing I can not get.

I do calculations, then green info field with forces appears. I move it left/right to have a better look and it becomes with no color. Why?

After I choice system objects, run calculation again - VW creates new house rigging points with new info on top of old ones. Why it doesn't update the existing info fields?
If I select all the truss and rigging points - after calculation it keeps the original fields.

So house rigging points are not connecting to the system at all and I should select every system with points manually to calculate?

The reason I'd like to do this:

- I can switch on/off symbols and info for house rigging points separetly. So on sheet layer I can have only rigging points with or without info

- I can put all the info fields with forces, loads, data tags etc on the file in a good way/look, so on sheet layers just to switch them on/off for different PDFs

Thanks

Alex

The default symbols currently only have 2D geometry, if you want them visible in 3D you need to edit the symbol definition in the reource manager to add some 3D geometry.

How are you trying to do this as normally this is possible?
The standard workflow is to add the house rigging points, draw your trusses and then insert the hoists. As long as the truss is correctly aligned with the house rigging point (the centre of the house point is aligned within the trusses boundeing box) the hoist tool will highlight both and the hoist will insert attahced to both.

This can be done using class and layer visibilities.

Currently this has to be done after insertion, the house rigging point tool is fairly old and its on our list to be improved.

This is the normal behaviour, currently our structural member object is not fully Braceworks enabled, so the house rigging points are used to display the load/force acting on the member where a bridle leg connect to it.

I'm not really sure why this happens, but since we have brought Braceworks developement in house it will be easier to have this behaviour improved upon. I'll get a enhancement request in.
