Anyone know where I can find compatible 3d models for residential appliances and furniture?

if you can’t find suitable products in the Resource Manager, 3rd party sites like 3D Warehouse can be used, though you’ll probably have some retexturing to do.

SKP models aren’t ideal. There are many appliances and future items in the vwx libraries

One of the tricks that I use is to create a block which is the correct size for the appliance, GoTo the appliance manufacturer and grab the image of the object, then make a texture or an image prop put it together with the object and then make a symbol from it. That way, you get a very good representation of the product in a rendered view

My preference is to model things myself as generally speaking none of the items in the VW Libraries are products I'd ever actually use in real life + I would rather take a bit of time to create something that is accurate visually + dimensionally. Sometimes there is half-decent stuff on 3D Warehouse but there's also a lot of rubbish. Often by the time you've spent half an hour sifting through everything in both locations you could have modelled something superior from scratch 🙂
