DCarpenter
Embarrassingly simple question, but when using the Soft Goods tool, it creates this locus (see attached) that I have no idea how to control or get rid of. What am I missing? Dave Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted January 28 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 28 They should be in the non-plot class by default. If you turn the class off it should hide them. 1 Quote Link to comment
DCarpenter
Kevin, that offers some clarity, but why does it exist at all? Dave Quote Link to comment
DCarpenter
So I realized that the locus is located at the point of origin where the Soft Goods tool was originally created from. Essentially it's 0,0 , but if you adjust the Soft Goods tool after creation, by using the Reshape tool, you could accidentally move it off it's origin, thus separating this locus from the actual soft goods the tool created. The problem this locus creates for me is when I'm using it in several meeting rooms in a convention center, that locus sometimes finds it's self in the adjacent room next to the room the Soft Goods tool is actually in. See attached. In Vectorworks mind, this Soft Good tool exist in both rooms, and when I create a list of objects that exist in each room this Soft Good tool gets counted in both rooms, even when the Non-plot class is turned off. Obviously, I'm not interested in going back to every room and fixing every instance of the Soft Good tool so that the soft goods start at their point of origin, and since I'm working on a large Project File where there are a lot of people with different levels of care and concern, asking everyone to go back and inspect the Soft Goods they touched or adjusted isn't realistic. So after writing this all out I may have answered my own question which is this is probably just a quirky thing about the Soft Goods tool I'm going to have to live with and work around, but for the possibility that there may be a solution to solve this problem without all that hassle, I thought I'd ask the experts, for any nugget of knowledge that might save me from this problem that I'm having. Be my savior and I'll pay you $100 in monopoly money. Dave Edited January 29 by DCarpenter 1 Quote Link to comment
